Industrial adiabatic blanking
The project pertaining to the Industrialisation of the adiabatic blanking process (Idea) has been developed and designed based on results stemming from fundamental R&D carried out jointly by Cetim, the LTDS laboratory of the École Centrale de Lyon, the Adiapress company (Meyer group, France) which manufactures the ADIA 7 press, and the Cartier decoupage, Sodel and Somica companies.
Idea has made it possible to produce parts on Cetim’s ADIA 7 line, in different materials (mild steels, high tensile steels, stainless steels etc.) and various thicknesses (3 to 7 mm). The changes made allowed up to 40,000 parts to be coined without any action on the tools.
The maturity of this technology allows Cetim to initiate a new phase of transfer towards industrial companies wishing to acquire this innovative process which makes it possible to produce flat parts with a minimum thickness of 2 to 3 mm and a maximum thickness of 8 mm in various material grades.
Industrial companies are already considering other operations than cutting.
