EMC guide for construction machinery
Cetim’s experts have written this EMC guide for construction machinery with two objectives in mind. The first objective is to answer a request by three of Cetim’s trade committees – Public Works, Mining and Drilling ; Agricultural Machinery ; and Handling, Lifting, and Storage – to have access to data derived from tests conducted on construction machinery and benefit from the 25 years of experience acquired by Cetim’s EMC laboratory. The second, and more important objective, is to present the key changes to the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC and the all-new EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, which is applicable since 20 April 2016, by focusing on EMC standards currently in use to evaluate construction machinery and, for construction machinery of all types, the general principles that are applicable to the design of construction machinery, practical wiring rules, and the declaration of conformity to be issued by manufacturers. This guide provides a wealth of practical guidelines and will enable all actors in the industry, from engineering and design offices to mechanical and electrical installers of wiring harnesses, to gain an overview of all these changes and make best use of them.
